Abigail Nace

is a dedicated dancer, performer, choreographer, and educator whose path has been defined by passion, challenge, resilience, and diversity. Her movement journey began at BSD and eventually led to her professional training at SUNY Purchase. After two years, she chose to leave due to emotional strain and physical injury from the competitive environment. She relocated to Portland, completing her BA at PSU in Arts and Letters with a minor in dance and training with dance educators Gregg Bielemeier, Linda K Johnson, and Tere Mathern. During this time, she performed at venues like Bodyvox and Performance Works NW while teaching children dance, though she continued to navigate a persistent struggle with injury. Seeking healing, Abigail moved to New Mexico to study at the Santa Fe School of Massage. It was here that her own artistic "voice" emerged through improvisation and site-specific works in nature.

She recommitted to her career just before the pandemic hit, traveling for a Gaga intensive with Danielle Agame and attending ADF in NYC. During the pandemic, she embraced a period of artistic isolation in rural New Mexico, refining her artistic practice through solo and community creations. As the world reopened, she returned to Santa Fe to choreography, perform solos, and guest teach, while beginning an Authentic Movement practice with Jean Fogal Zee and a study of Contact Improvisation. Most recently, Abigail moved to Boulder, CO, where she is continuing a rigorous practice of CI and expanding her physical vocabulary with floor work and acrobatics at ApeCo Movement School. Deeply committed to both her personal craft and the growth of others, she brings a grounded, seasoned perspective and is excited to continue her journey of performing, choreographing, and teaching
